Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today (July 23, 2022) arrested another youth for his alleged involvement in the sexual assault of a student of Chittagong University on July 17.

The arrestee, Mohammad Saiful, is son of a Grade-4 employee of CU, said Lt Col MA Yousuf, commanding officer of Rab-7, at a briefing this afternoon.

Saiful was arrested from Bahaddarhat area of the port city, the Rab official said.

One of the two motorcycles used by the accused during the incident belongs to Saiful, he added.

With this latest arrest, five youths, including two CU students, have been arrested in connection with the incident of sexual assault.
